‘To Russia for Love’ is is a track straight from the Balkan Disko! Down tempo but it makes you want to Dance. With everything from accordion and orchestral violins to deep analogue synths and FM Radio bleeps, the song song takes the listener on a journey to another world. A spy mission in the frozen northern wastes, the perfect sound track to a James Bond film, to Russia For Love is new ground for the Electric Swing Circus, but at the same time you can hear the unmistakable ESC sound.
Smoke and Mirrors takes the Bond theme and goes one step further. With a full orchestra (recorded remotely over lockdown) backing the band, the song draws on 50s and 60s spy movies and film noir in its influences along with band such as Massive Attack and Portishead. The song builds to an orchestral cacophony of sound and does something very different for the world of Electro Swing.
Both songs are taken from their third studio album “Pleasure Seekers” due for release in March 2022. Expect expansive songs transporting you around the world and into space, whilst contemplating fiery relationships and offering self reflection.
